Day 1 of the electronic patient registration system

Introduction

Nkhoma Hospital intends to computerise the operations of the hospital. The key project objective is to improve the capacity of the hospital to provide quality and efficient health care services to the community by upgrading the hospital management systems and processes.

Planning

The project is divided in four phases:

Patient Registration
Personnel Administration and Payroll
 Phase 2 January - June 2010 Diagnosis and Treatment (outpatient department)
Vertical Disease Programs
Pharmacy Stock Management
 Phase 3
 July - December 2010 General Stock Management
Diagnosis and Treatment (inpatient departments)
 Phase 4
 January- June 2011
 

 

Implementation partners

The project is supported financially and technically by International Institute for Communication in Development (IICD).

The hospital will implement the HIS package AfyaPro by NPK Technologies from Tanzania.
